Modern society has developed many ways to send and receive information from one nation to another in seconds, revolutionizing the method of human-to-human communication. Moving from the hieroglyphics that depict an average day in the eyes of a pre-modern civilization, to email, texting, and the World Wide Web used to transform a communications industry on a stage unheard of by our technology ancestors. Advances have brought us never-imagined discoveries possible at the push of a button, as well as making everyday life much easier. The need to write letters and wait weeks to receive them or have to travel halfway around the world has been transformed into a tool that literally defines the new era. The Internet has not only become the basis by which most people contact each other nowadays, but also the basis by which most people do everything, period. The evolution of technology has drastically altered the entire planet bringing it to an era where everything we could want is at our fingertips. Do you want to visit a foreign country without paying for the trip? Google Street View can literally place you in the city you would like to see the most. Did you miss last week's football game? YouTube shows highlights of every match at the push of a button. The point of technology is, if you could think it, it could be accomplished with technology. Social networks connect people on the other side of the world without the need for a plane ticket or any means of travel, in fact, about half of the people who use social networks regularly are more likely than not to have ever met in person in because of the speed, access and convenience of the Internet. Networks have evolved from simple messengers that connected people without the need for paper… they reach more and more people around the world. Websites are used for literally everything you could ever imagine, good, bad, educational or just to pass the time. People are progressively realizing the multiple uses and information at their fingertips sent at the speed of light to all levels of land, air and water. The military uses the Internet for critical communications that may or may not have dire situations, but it is a necessity for quick and accurate exchange of information from the base to anyone from pilots, submarine captains, or just infantrymen. In addition to the military, musicians, artists, and even scientists also rely on the Internet to transmit and possess the information they need at the moment. The information that technology can spread is still so unknown in the eyes of some, but with the transition year after year, technology can only get smarter and smarter.
