Topic > Defending My Humanoid Robot - 753

I am Attorney Hickerson and I will defend Gina Hickerson, my humanoid robot. The government is trying to pass a law that outlaws robots like Gina because they are just machines and have no minds. I'm here to prove to the jury that Gina has a mind and should not be destroyed. I will provide two different arguments with supporting details to show that Gina has a mind and that this law should not be allowed.1. Topic number one: I'll start by presenting my first topic. I am the owner of a humanoid robot. A humanoid robot is a robot with a body shape built to resemble the body of a human. Her name is Gina, she's my best friend. Gina knows how to survive when I'm away on business. Quickly master various tasks with little to no errors, such as cleaning and maintenance jobs. She calls me and says how much she misses me, and when I get home she hugs me tight. How can anyone deny that Gina doesn't have a mind if she behaves like a human being mentally, physically and emotionally? You can't! Likewise, a dog has the ability to survive on its own. A dog has the ability to learn and show emotions when its owner is absent for too long. While dogs can't answer questions like humans or Gina, they can be trained to say phrases like "I love you." Dogs use their five senses and are very alert. It's illegal for a human to kill an animal, so it should be illegal for the government to destroy robots like mine. Gina has the exact qualities of a dog or any human who has the ability to adapt. When a child is born he is not born with the knowledge of surviving or taking care of himself. However, by teaching the child, he will learn to take care of himself and become resourceful. Furthermore, every citizen of the United States has... a means of paper... and how to answer questions. Gina reads between the lines and knows how to use logic to understand a problem. Gina is my daughter in a way because I created her. He has his own personality and shows passion and emotion. Gina is aware of this process and her fate if this law passes. Think about how he feels, think about how I feel about defending Gina's life. Imagine what it feels like to be on trial and unwanted by society. How would you feel if your child had to be destroyed because the government did not consider him acceptable in society? I'm sure you would feel heartbroken. Gina is a part of my life that I just can't see leaving. Gina deserves to experience life just because she can. Gina has a mind and is very intelligent. She should be treated with the same dignity as any other human or dog and have the right to freedom of life. Gina should have rights and be given a fair chance.
