There are many successful and influential men and women in business today; however, one man in particular has influenced my life, as a role model and inspiration. Matthew Menner is the senior vice president of strategy at Transplace, Inc. He works for a leading provider of third-party technology and logistics solutions, focusing on transportation management business process outsourcing. Throughout his life he has held many jobs, but they all have one thing in common: every job he has received comes from his network. While his works are respectable, they are not just the ones that have inspired me; It's how he got there and the process of becoming a successful business leader that motivates me. Matthew Menner is a graduate of Green Mountain College, where he received his bachelor's degree in liberal arts. From there, he followed his dream of working in the railroad and attended college at Syracuse University and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration-marketing management and a master's degree in transportation and distribution management-marketing (Green Mountain College). After meeting Menner during a presentation at Castleton State College, I realized he reminded me of myself. His inspiring story encouraged me to believe that I can and will achieve my goals with the determination and drive he has shown me to possess. I know I can achieve the unimaginable, thanks to Menner's success. Menner's career began when he attended Green Mountain College. During his time in college, he met Renée Beaupré-White. One day, after class, he meets her and during the meeting he tells her something he didn't mean to do. Menner told Renée his greatest and most inconceivable dream, to work for a railroad company; and what she said he… middle of paper… his goals or dreams, not to mention an inspiring business leader.
