Introduction All organizations and businesses, both in profile and profit, conduct their business through respect and involvement of those who work in them to obtain superior results. This is achieved through the involvement of good leadership. According to Uju (2013), leadership is the creation of a vision regarding a defined future state that seeks to involve all members of the organizational context, with an influence necessary to achieve the objectives of the organization. Leadership is defined as a process in which an individual influences others to achieve a goal and guides the organization in a way that makes it more coherent and cohesive. Corporate governance on the other hand refers to a way, a fact and an act of controlling, directing and governing the affairs of an organization, company, city or country. It covers the association between different participants in establishing the performance and direction of companies. According to Carcello (2009) the key actors in the corporate governance process are the stakeholders, management and the board of directors. Shareholders are the owners of the company and expect to get good returns on their investment and commensurate with the investment risk. Good governance is also associated with financial reporting and, therefore, the external auditor plays an essential role in the governance function.
