Imagine a society overrun by bullies. It would be terribly scary if it were true, but it is. The Bully Society, by Jessie Klein, is about the many stories of kids who are involved in bullying issues and how they are struggling to deal with them. Before Klein began writing her book, she worked for years as a high school teacher, social worker and conflict resolution coordinator. Klein writes many academic journals, articles appearing in many well-known media. One of her main goals, as described on her website, www.JessieKlein.com, is "I hope to help schools build compassionate communities that lead to more peaceful and productive educational environments." Klein is a very diligent and hardworking woman. He tries to highlight the need for improvements whether it be in education or community. He strives to be an influential role model to many of his former students and those he has met. A collection of Klein's interviews with children, bullying stories, and possible solutions is The Bully Society. Throughout the book Klein examines many school shootings, bullying, and social standards of schools. It also includes various ways in which violence occurs and provides in-depth solutions to help improve society. As the book progresses, it expands into a broader topic. For example, it starts specifically from statuses and proceeds to people specifically, through the Internet, the economy, America and Europe. It is based on expansion and provides its own personal experience and some solutions. Within the book, Klein shares her efforts and her goal is to “diagnose the disturbing values affecting the school; schools must strive to build a culture of acceptance, where students can develop… middle of paper… everything to someone. Bullying has grown to become an epidemic. Many other forms of bullying exist today, and they don't just happen at school. Many people are victims of online bullying. Unfortunately, cyberbullying has become increasingly popular. Suicidal thoughts are becoming a part of victims' minds and resulting in sad thoughts. Teachers are working even harder to connect with students to help them solve their problems and to create a safer and more caring school environment. She is an amazing writer and I am happy to have taken a swim in her flow of thoughts. I look forward to doing more research on Jessie Klein and her opinions on other possible issues. The evidence, interviews and his experience help shape his ideas into a solid book. If we take into account what Klein has to offer, we can create a society free from bullying.
