III. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY A qualitative approach was adopted which involves two main data collection methods; a thorough and systematic literature review and in-depth interviews on critical pedagogical approaches, technologies supporting such pedagogies, and learning resource management with e-learning providers. The reasons for adopting detailed interviews are as follows: First, interviews are appropriate to examine the extent to which critical factors identified by the literature and empirical studies are put into practice. Consequently, interviews were found to be particularly suitable for understanding the versatile beliefs and practices of individual e-learning stakeholders when assessing what works best (or worst) to improve the effectiveness of e-learning. Secondly, the e-learning ecosystem is a complex system, which requires acceptance and adaptation from e-learning providers. For this reason, assessing the perceptions of staff involved in the e-learning environment is necessary to identify critical factors that facilitate or impede the success of e-learning. Third, the sustainability of e-learning success requires that the three components of the e-learning ecosystem function as a mutually benefiting unit. To fully understand the interaction between these components, the interview method was considered effective. Fourth, this research aims to develop and test the research model with a larger audience as follow-up research. This also requires the identification of multiple points of view and concrete factors that contribute to the success of the e-learning ecosystem. Accordingly, the interview method of data collection is considered appropriate to gain insight into multiple perspectives on contributing factors and inhibiting factors within the third... half of the article... taken as an online survey of information from the potential interviewee on his suitability for the interview, discussion of the research questions and interpretation with the co-researcher and comparison of the interviews to predict the outcome improving the accuracy and reliability of the results. To ensure internal validity, two critical strategies, namely method triangulation and data triangulation, were employed to understand the underlying relationship between intertwined critical factors. In this research, the qualitative method triangulation includes a systematic literature review and interviews, and the qualitative data triangulation for this research involved multiple interviews and multiple data sources. Finally, adequate measures were taken to maintain external validity by explicitly stating methodological details to allow for both generalization and replication.
