Four Corners DebateMy criteria for making my decision:-Has contemporary society responded effectively?-What have people done to respond?-Has the problem been solved?- Are there problems similar to these historic problems that have occurred today? I agree that contemporary society has done enough to respond to the legacy of historical globalization. Throughout history there have been many controversial issues. I believe that modern society has reacted well to these tragic events. We have seen responses from many levels of society, from government and from citizens themselves. We have also seen responses in many forms. The victims of the crimes received compensation in the form of money, received apologies from the government and even from the people who committed the crimes. Those who took part in these events also received punishment. I don't think anything else can be done to respond to the legacy of historical globalization. There were punishments for those who did wrong. There have also been many kind acts towards people who have been harmed. My 3-5 reasons why I disagree with the debate statement: - Many people who have been affected by historical globalization have died either from the event they were involved in or from natural causes - We are helping the people affected by historical globalization to the extent necessary - We constantly respond to historical globalization by teaching it in our schools to the younger generations who are the future of our world - There is only a limit to what we can do to help people who have suffered -There are many efforts there to prevent future tragedies4-5 examples to support my decision-In 1994 Nelson Mandela was elected as......middle of paper......and who was affected by historical globalization? -When is enough enough? To what extent do you expect contemporary society to respond to legacies? I disagree: - With modern society constantly bringing up the past, are we preventing those who have been harmed from moving on from what happened to them? - How do you expect to help someone who is now dead because of the event they were in or because it happened a long time ago? Strongly Disagree: - You are part of contemporary society, so how do you plan to respond to the legacies of historical globalization and do your part? -Who needs to take responsibility for responding to the legacies of historical globalization?
