Mary Anderson protected the windshield wiper before the Model T Ford was manufactured in 1908. Many thought her innovation was stupid and accepted that the movement of the windshield wiper edges would be distracting the drivers. Fast forward and a large number of distracted attentions towards teenagers and adults, which originated before cell phone technology, still exist today, for example by talking, consuming, applying cosmetics and changing radio stations while driving. According to the National Safety Council, the number of cell phone users has increased from 11% of the US population in 1995 to 93% in 2010. This also means that there has been a relentless increase in cell phone use while driving.
