Probably everything in our environment has to do with the effects of the economy. Things we buy, activities we do or money we have earned. Other factors, such as global warming causing climate change, could also have a direct impact on our environment and economy. Economics is all about resources and how they affect our daily lives. It is how we use scarce resources to make a choice or decide whether it is best for us or beneficial to our lives. Having a better economy will help us live safely, so we better find ways to keep up with the good resources we have to stay in a healthy economy. But sometimes we can't fight the mother nature of things that happen to us, like typhoons. In December 2012, Palau was hit by a typhoon called Bopha which was a disaster for our country. Many homes have been damaged, landslides everywhere, roads blocked, local food plants ruined, holidays from work and schools, government spending on damage recovery and people running out of money due to expenses for their personal items. All this would lead to the sustainability of our country's economy. The impact of Typhoon Bopha has affected Palau's economy by limiting the resources of what people want and the availability of supplies to satisfy them. It would take more than a year to recover from all the severe damage caused by the typhoon, which will make it more difficult for Palau's economy to maintain excellent well-being. A huge impact to the whole country of Palau from Typhoon Bopha would be all the great damage that made it harder for people to bear. Closed roads that make it more difficult to move easily from one place to another... middle of paper... on lands that make it more difficult to produce plants that meet people's needs. Drinking water can also be polluted, making it more difficult to use it to prepare food. Damage caused by typhoons can result in recovery of millions of dollars. Businesses, private or public, can also be affected by the typhoon as they are closed to the community. When businesses close, they lose a certain amount of revenue, and the community will also have difficulty getting what it needs or wants. People will suffer from a lack of the supplies they need. Typhoon Bopha hit the country of Palau limiting some of the resources people need to get on with their lives. We can only hope for less damage from natural disasters and learn from the results and prepare in many ways to prevent serious damage next time to help us support a better economy.
