Fair wages must change and be equal for all people. CEO Jon Cooper believes that the minimum wage cap should be changed and should be changed to better employees. Mr. Cooper is the president of a manufacturing company, this company only has 150 employees but everyone is paid more than their fair wage. Mr Cooper supports raising the minimum wage, it's something he supports with great passion. The minimum wage is just $7.25 an hour, that manufacturer's level as of July 24, 2009. Fair wages provide our business community with the foundation we can build into a strong economic system. Mr Cooper believes salaries account for 80% of his company's success. Mr. Cooper is the CEO of Spectronics Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of ultraviolet equipment and fluorescent materials. There is no doubt that raising the minimum wage will help success across our nation. The increase will cause consumer spending, according to the IRS “Consumer spending makes up 70% of our nation's economic system. Weak consumer demand is the biggest problem faced by businesses nowadays. Boosting economic growth by stimulating consumer spending is the result of raising the minimum wage. By allowing someone to purchase goods they can't afford now, it creates a boost as revenue flows back through small businesses. This is also good for our tax base. Raising the minimum wage will reduce employee turnover rates, thereby reducing hiring and training costs. Higher wages can also have positive effects in terms of increasing productivity. According to the Better Business Bureau, “When an employee has investments within the company where he or she works, he or she is… middle of paper… companies paid in the 60s. Raising the minimum wage has been a long-awaited necessity in our country. Works Cited Bercusson, Brian. Fair Wage Resolutions. London: Mansell Information Pub., 1978. Print.Skinner, Jim.
