Six feet four inches tall and treating all people equally was an honest president named Abraham Lincoln ("Biography of Abraham Lincoln"). He had two nicknames which were "Honest Abe" and "The Great Emancipator" ("Abraham Lincoln Biography"). Abraham Lincoln never liked the idea of slavery; therefore, on January 1, 1863, he freed the slaves who were part of the confederacy (“Abraham Lincoln”). He achieved a huge goal by winning the Civil War (“Abraham Lincoln”). Lincoln was a proud father of four children ("Martin 2, 16, 18, 26, 42 and 82"). Being honest, winning the presidency, opposing slavery, and putting one's life at risk proves that Abraham Lincoln dies as an American patriot. Being a father of four boys is not an easy task, because they can become rowdy and ferocious. When Abraham was eight years old, his father moved to Indiana from Kentucky and Abraham had to move (“Abraham Lincoln”). There were a lot of wild animals in Indiana and that's where he lived most of his life ("Abraham Lincoln"). Lincoln's mother died when he was only nine years old (Westenberg)! Later, after his mother's death, his father married Sarah Bush Johnson (Westenberg). Sarah always encouraged Abraham to read ("Abraham Lincoln"). When Abraham was older, he only knew how to read, write, and cipher ("Abraham Lincoln"). Abraham dated Anne Rutledge, but she died when he was 22 ("Abraham Lincoln"). At the age of 22, Lincoln had to live alone, because his father moved out (“Abraham Lincoln”). In 1842, Abraham Lincoln married Mary Todd on November 4 (Weinberg 105, 106, and 108). After Mary Todd and Abraham divorced, he married Nancy Hanks ("Encyclopedia of World"). Having to lose your mother at nine would have been hard a......middle of paper......a year later the tomb was surrounded by a cage and placed under a large rock (Martin 2, 16, 18 , 26, 42 and 82). April 14, 1865 will be a day Americans will never forget. Abraham Lincoln will always be remembered for all his loyal qualities and all he changed for America. His house was opened for tours in 1887 (Westenberg). Abraham will be remembered for freeing the slaves while being the tallest president America has ever had (Martin 2, 16, 18, 26, 42 and 82) (“Encyclopedia of the World”). Having a great sense of humor is a great quality for Abraham Lincoln to have (Martin 2, 16, 18, 26, 42 and 82). He always told jokes and liked to tell stories (Martin 2, 16, 18, 26, 42 and 82). Abraham Lincoln seemed authentic and I think it would have been amazing to meet him. Reaching out for the things that matter and doing the right thing will keep you remembered.
