The first day I walk through that door I feel scared, nervous, and open-minded. On my first day at George Brown College I walked with confidence and enthusiasm into the career and career counseling program. The program I have always dreamed of participating in. One of my courses is called Overview of Career and Work Counseling. Overview of career and career consultancy, what is it, what will we learn and how will this course help us in the field as consultants? This course teaches me the history of consulting and how to advise the client in a different way. On the first day, in an overview of the questions of the career and career counseling course, for example: what will we learn? Well, we will learn many things and everything that has to do with consulting, such as how we could use our skills in the field and learn new skills that will make us a good consultant. We also learn about the different counseling methods. In this lesson we learn the difference between career and job. We also learn several skills that we can improve and should start using in our lives. In this essay I will analyze the topics we have learned in class, I will also analyze why we learned these topics and how these topics will help me or any consultant is a good consultant. I will also talk about how I grow during the lesson. The first topic we learned: What are the goals of a career and job consultant? Well, the goal of the career and job consultant is to help the client understand their responsibility and help them make their own decisions. What a career and employment consultant does is help their clients find the skills they have and help them find a job that suits what their skills are... middle of the paper... it could be and some I don't they are, but I think learning them is great and could help you become a better counselor. Overall, as a consultant, I think there are many more things I need to learn and improve. Being on this course is just the beginning and there are many other courses from which I will learn new things. So the overview of career and career counseling is great and learning a lot of new things, but there are some new things that I will improve on to help me become a good counselor. Also in this essay you saw me analyzing the topics we learned in class, also analyzing why we learned these topics and how these topics will help me or any consultant to be a good consultant. I also talked about how I was at the beginning and how I am now. I enjoyed taking this course and had a great teacher who guided me to success in this course.
