The community of ranchers and farmers dwindled. These cities and towns now needed water to reach every household. The process of providing water to each family was not the only obstacle, but also getting clean water. Most water on earth is too salty to consume and in fact carries disease and bacteria. To keep our water safe a whole process has been put in place for homes to receive this water. Treatment plants, public bodies and private sectors that make our water safe to drink and use daily are now found in every city and town. State laws are established to ensure that the public receives clean, safe water. This is obviously important, but what about rainwater and its collection? Thanks to these treatment plants we pay for the consumption of water, but we should pay for rain harvesting for others
