How can we challenge our lives through education? Language is obviously a vital tool. Not only is it a means of communicating thoughts and ideas, but it forms friendships, cultural bonds and economic relationships. It provides the key to the future, in fact, it facilitates the process of learning and education which is the strength we must acquire to overcome the challenges of the 21st century, its tribulations and illusions. Basically these are three interesting essays, "A letter to a child like me", "From dropout to graduate" and "Thinking", focusing on the importance of education and how it will be the key to having a better life, good social conditions and live in harmony with other members of society. Therefore, education is the best solution to overcome the struggle between class issues, race relations and immigration issues. So how can education improve our existence? And does education really overcome the obstacles in life that we must avoid to succeed? Education is a continuous and creative process. It is an instrument of change, educated people contribute to self-development and the improvement of their community. To illustrate, Laura Kuehn – author of “From Drop out to a Graduate” – provides a vivid example of how education improves her life, especially after facing horrible social circumstances and recognizing the waste of time she had wasted. ''Looking back, it seems to me that the longer I waited to attend college the bigger the obstacles were to getting there. Before I knew it, I was in my mid-twenties, divorced, bankrupt and uneducated,” she says. Today's youth need to know the consequences of lack of education, and that ignorance will occur if they don't stimulate their minds with what's important. Going to school, taking classes, doing your best, increasing your skills and fertilizing your brain is the right path to success.
