When I moved from New York to Texas I left behind the most important thing: love. I had been dating Franky for a year when I moved south. It was a really sad separation for both of us, but we decided to continue our long-distance relationship to see how it would turn out. However, I knew deep down that it wouldn't last long. Long distance relationships are difficult and the chances of them failing are great. Needless to say, the odds were not in our favor and our relationship ended four months later. The causes that led to the failure of our long-distance relationship between Franky and me were numerous. One of the reasons why our relationship failed is the most common: lack of communication. For the first two months we talked every night before going to bed, on the phone or using face-to-face chat on Skype. It was a little romantic. We would plan dates where we would watch the same movie together, or go on long walks while talking on the phone, or even make dinner, get dressed, and eat together while chatting on Skype. Later life started to get in the way...
