On a normal day in Cleveland, Ohio, police received several calls from terrified people saying there was a tiger or bear in their yard. A man lost his exotic pets. Now there were chimpanzees, grizzly bears and Bengal tigers roaming the city. That was just one time when exotic animals were released. Some say there is nothing wrong with owning exotic pets, but facts show that there are great risks in having exotic pets. Exotic animals can transmit diseases, be aggressive and often left free. So why shouldn't people have exotic pets? The natural instinct of an exotic pet is extremely aggressive. Although many claim that their pet did not attempt to harm them, there have been several cases where exotic pets have attacked people. In one case a three-year-old boy was strangled to death by his pet python. Exotic pets are used to being aggressive. When they become pets, they are still used to being aggressive, which makes them dangerous. Their wild instincts make them unpredictable, so it's impossible to know if they will attack. Another reason why people should not have exotic pets is that they can transmit diseases to their owners. In nature, several species of animals suffer from diseases that are fatal to humans. Exotic pets can easily get sick and die, especially if they are not cared for properly. Although many people say they have exotic pets and take good care of their pets, most people who have exotic pets don't realize that the cute little tiger cub will need fifty pounds of meat a day, and most some people can't afford it. pay the money needed to make sure their pet is fed properly. One person even said, "People really spend a lot of money on their pets, sometimes more than themselves." (quote by Oksana Baiul) "Also, most veterinarians do not know how to care for exotic animals, so even if they take good care of your pet and take it to the veterinary doctor, there is still no guarantee that the vet has the necessary medications to make your pet well. The final reason why people should not have exotic pets is that they are often released into the wild by their owner. Many people say they have never seen exotic pets nature or not have ever heard of this, but in several states the release of exotic animals into the wild is becoming a big problem.
