Evil can be rebuked in different ways: knowledge, discernment and retaliation. To rebuke evil you must first know how to understand it. Stories can help Christians understand other perspectives and religions in a way that doesn't threaten their own faith. It is a way of observing without crossing boundaries and without sinning. With knowledge you can better discern between evil and good. By knowing sins, a Christian can better avoid them. This is how discernment is learned. The next step is retaliation against evil. By knowing evil and being able to discern between good and evil, a Christian is able to fight evil. We can do this by not supporting stories that teach evil, by teaching others what evil is and to avoid it, and by preaching against evil.
