Clinical depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life for weeks or longer. Clinical depression results from interactions between brain chemicals and hormones that affect a person's energy level, feelings, sleep, and eating habits; These chemical interactions are linked to many causes such as, a person's family history of illness, biochemical and psychological structure, prolonged stress, and traumatic life crises such as the death of a loved one, job loss, or divorce (clinical depression ). Clinical depression is a serious medical condition. That's not the case with the "blues", or being sad sometimes. Clinical depression is a sadness that never goes away for those who suffer from it. Sometimes it can be cured, sometimes it's just something that will never be fixed. Other symptoms of clinical depression may include self-hatred, feelings of sadness, anxiety, or feelings of “emptiness.” Feelings of hopelessness, guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness. Loss of interest in once enjoyable activities or hobbies, anger, fatigue, and decreased energy (clinical depression). Also difficulty concentrating, remembering details and making decisions, insomnia, morning wakefulness or excessive sleeping, overeating or loss of appetite and finally suicidal thoughts (clinical depression). Some people have never met someone with clinical depression, so they don't know what to expect and when to expect it. An example of someone who might suffer from clinical depression is Victor and the creature he created in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. If you have read this book, you should know how the creature was created and why it was so angry. You should also know why Victor was...... middle of paper ......serious when dealing with suicidal thoughts, depression carries a high risk of suicide. Be aware of depression surrounding your family and even yourself, if anyone has symptoms related to depression you should make an appointment to see a psychologist. Works cited "Clinical Depression".
