Topic > The Importance of Being a Criminal Judge - 807

I saw that being a criminal justice specialist is great, because the jobs associated with a criminal justice specialist are really interesting to me. Studying a specialization in criminal justice has been something I've wanted to do since watching crime TV shows when I was a child. These shows have piqued most of my interest and the character I would love to play is obviously the lead detective. I always wanted to be the one who took the chance in the case that ultimately led to the arrest of the person who committed the crime. That's why I watched shows like Monk, Criminal Minds, Psych, etc. Basically if the show had crime in it and there were people trying to catch the criminal I was most likely glued to the TV. There have also been many issues surrounding the criminal justice field that I find interesting. Some of these questions have involved whether or not law enforcement should monitor cities more closely, given the recent attacks on American soil. The specialization I've decided to pursue seems like a really good fit for me and I'm eager to start learning more about this field, and I'm happy I don't have to be on the front lines. I want to be a forensic accountant because I know it will always interest me throughout my life. I am happy not to be surrounded by the tension that comes from respecting citizens' rights and police officers crossing the lines between laws and respecting citizens' rights. I recently had second thoughts about majoring in criminal justice, due to the fact that you pay your debts for many many years, and that just didn't appeal to me and I decided to change my major. Forensic accountants deal more with the business side of criminal justice. Most of these accou... middle of paper... cross the lines between the law and being a citizen. There has been some controversy over this system because it has been accused of targeting certain types of groups. There have been lawsuits that have raised this very issue, and most of them have never been proven. In conclusion, I am very excited to learn more about the forensic accounting specialization. I know this specialization will require a lot of work, but I feel like I am capable of pursuing this career. The amount of jobs that will open up in this field once I graduate from college is huge. In my article I talked about license plate scanners on police cars and what I wanted to do with my life. I feel that rules and laws should be written in a way that protects the rights of citizens that everyone deserves, and luckily the career I have chosen will not force me to make those drastic decisions.
