IntroductionMovies are an important part of many Americans' lives. Everyone has a particular genre they like best or a particular actor. There are many genres to choose from, such as action, romance, drama, musicals, documentaries, horror, comedy and children's films. Added to this is the cliché "Everyone is a critic". Movies will only want to be seen if someone else says it's good. They trust this advice and spend an hour and a half to three hours watching a movie. This form of entertainment is viewer-driven. Horror films, however, are designed according to the same chronology: introduction, conflict climax, resolution. Even horror films have many actors who don't appear in the sequel. The actors are also very unrecognizable due to the possibility of them being killed off in the film as it progresses. Horror films make people do many things that no other type of film can. Horror films make viewers jump, make them scream, and make viewers want to cover their eyes. All these aspects make horror films an exciting and entertaining form of entertainment. Criteria Horror films must follow a certain formula that makes them successful and entertaining for general audiences. First and foremost, horror movies have to be scary. That's usually the whole point of going to these types of movies. The argument that horror movies are fun starts with how much the movie makes someone jump and how disturbing it is. Secondly, these films have to have blood. From classic slasher films to zombie films, gore has always been fused with the horror genre. This condition also almost always determines whether the film will be rated R or...... middle of paper... film. The other characters in this movie were also good at portraying themselves as panicked about the murders that were happening in the movie. The direction of this film, however, was really poor. The props, kills, and camera direction left a lot to be desired. Director Dario Argento was an award-winning director throughout the 1960s, but he really showed his downside in directing. This movie had so much potential but he really destroyed it. Conclusion Overall, this Cat O' Nine Tails movie was not a very entertaining movie. The story was interesting to follow, but the props and direction were poor. The acting, however, was excellent and was the saving grace of this film. I would not recommend this film to anyone who is a regular viewer or to anyone who is a fan of Dario Argento because his direction is terrible. As a horror fan, this movie was OK.
