When I first came to America and people don't understand my accent at all, I feel depressed, then I realized that I had to do my best like Richard did, that is, do our best by learning correct English to get a public identity. When we do our best to adapt American culture, we must also appreciate our language and culture. This is where we need to find the balance between adapting to foreign culture and appreciating our own culture. The way I find balance is that I would continue to communicate with my friends and family in Malaysia using “Skype”. We will share our life experience and talk about our day through the Internet.
