The morning before my sixteenth birthday my family left for the special trip we had planned. We loaded up the car, checked everything to make sure we hadn't left anything behind, and left for the airport. We got on the plane, just in time, for Ireland. The flight was fantastic, as we were in first class. After landing we rented a car and went to our hotel, where we rested up for the plans we had for the next day. In the morning, my mom thought it would be great to start the day with a trip to the famous Giant's Causeway. When we arrived, a woman was going for a tour, so we joined her group. He took us to a beautiful place on the causeway and everyone gasped. He began to speak and said: “Welcome to the Giant's Causeway, one of the most visited places in Ireland. I'll start the tour with some facts and stories about the causeway. After the tour, you can venture out and explore the causeway on your own. The Giant's Causeway is known for these rock columns made of basalt. Most columns are hexagonal, but some have only four sides and others have up to eight. There are about forty thousand columns, the tallest are forty feet high and occupy 7173 acres of land. Some people who visit call them honeycombs. Some people believe the causeway formed naturally, involving a combination of water and lava. When the earth's crust shifted it allowed lava to flow out of the vents. Then the water cooled the lava and this process repeated itself. Others think it was produced several months during Noah's Flood, when sedimentary layers were deposited. As the water that deposited the layers resided, lava covered it and this process repeated itself. Scientists say these two events cannot be linked,... middle of paper... they could, until Oonagh had a brilliant plan. The two ran upstairs and grabbed the sheets from their bed. Oonagh packed some clothes and a blanket, while Fionn went into the shed and made a wooden cradle. In the morning, Fionn put on his clothes, got into the crib and spread the blanket over him. Oonagh heard a knock on the door, it was Angus. He opened the door and Angus burst into the house. He asked: "Where's Fionn?" Oonagh replied, "He's gone for a walk, but he should be back soon." Angus didn't believe her, so he looked around. Fionn, across the room, made a baby cry loudly and Angus noticed it was coming from the crib, so he went to check. He saw the baby, Fionn in disguise, and thought: "If that's Fionn's baby, Fionn must be bigger than I thought." Angus ran out the door and across the causeway destroying it behind him.
