The 14 standards are organized by theme: culturally competent care (standards 1-3), language access services (standards 4-7), and organizational supports for cultural competence (standards 8- 14) ). 7 These types of services are essential to our healthcare system and will also provide better care and understanding of the growing diversity of the population in our country. I think CLAS standards should be constantly monitored and evaluated to keep up with the growing diversity of the population. Health care workers and providers should be continuously educated and trained to current standards in order to better understand and serve a diverse audience.
