The lights were on. The phone was disconnected. The radio was off. The radiator was disconnected. The TV was also on. Only the light was connected. I whispered with my friends until about 4am, much calmer. The phone rang. Stupidly, I replied. "HI?" I called. "I'm coming to get you." Events began to unfold again, similar but worse than the time before, when only I knew what was happening. The girl wanted us all now. The lights went out, the air became freezing, the telephones rang, classical music came on, the radiator made noise and the little girl came out from behind the curtain. Slowly it emerged. My friends' eyes were wide. "You were right!" one shouted. One vomited. His knife glittered in the moonlight. He lifted it and I felt the suspense drag me down. I felt the cold blade hit my stomach and felt a warm sensation. Darkness. That's all I saw. Pure plain
