There are many reasons why people should believe in Darwin's theory of evolution. One of the most compelling reasons is the anatomical similarities between different species. Yet another reason to accept Darwin's theory is the geographic distribution of species, meaning that some plants and animals evolved in specific ways to meet the needs of their isolated environments. Another reason to support the theory of evolution is the fossil record of changes that occurred over time in previous species. Finally, scientists have recorded genetic changes in a certain species over many generations that support Darwin's theory. These changes indicate that evolution is underway. For all these reasons, Darwin's theory of evolution makes scientific sense and should be respected. First of all, there are many anatomical similarities between completely different species of organisms. One of the best-known similarities is that between monkeys and humans. Many people do not accept this proposition as true because it offends their religious or personal beliefs, but there are some very compelling facts to support the thesis that humanity did indeed evolve from apes. The first similarity is that their overall size and general physical structure are quite similar. Another similarity is that both humans and apes have a large rib cage that extends beyond the spine. This means that both humans and apes have rib cages that are slightly larger than those of most mammals and that extend beyond the backbone, also known as the vertebral column. Another important similarity is that they both have shoulder blades positioned on the back and shoulder blades on the sides. These anatomical similarities are significant... half the paper... common sense and more and more people should open their minds and accept this as fact. Works Cited Allen, Katy Z.
