This article attempts to analyze race relations, ethnicity, and how art and film relate to these social issues in their cultural context. Art and cinema have played a fundamental role in supporting a society free from race and racism. Using vivid descriptions and evidence from both text and film, this article tries to accordingly relate the issues and factors concerned that influence these social vices. It will demonstrate racial and ethnic trends in different cultural contexts. As a demographic phenomenon, ethnicity belongs to a specific ethnic group that possesses a distinct culture and a common origin. This is called inscriptional group identity. According to Said Edward (1993) a good introduction to issues of social interest and especially to those of our context should be inserted in their political and socio-cultural contexts. Ethnographic ethnicity is a natural phenomenon, a form of identity and is politically neutral. In most countries, especially African ones, ethnicity determines who gets what, when and how. It is a form of insufficiently developed class production relations. Edward describes that colonization especially in Ireland. It attempts to appropriate Ireland into the conventional postcolonial context. Use the case study to illustrate that colonization had negative effects on a country and promoted issues related to ethnicity. Large populations live in the western part of the country. He uses essentialist formulations to advance his arguments. Most Irish people living in immigrant populations are mixed populations, and most people have mixed with other immigrants. There appears to be ethnic tension between the indigenous and exotic populations. It should be noted that ethnicity comes in the form of… middle of paper… thoughts and ideas about their nationalism tend to express racist views. .This is demonstrated in artistic symbols, drawings and sculptures. In most cartoons or drawings the African American population is depicted with large noses. Art can play an important role in the advancement of literature. Art is described as a procedure of arranging figurative elements into a style that has an effect on a person's mind, feelings and brain. It involves a variety of human actions, designs, and forms of expression such as music, literature, film, photography, sculpture, and paintings. The meaning of art is examined in an area of philosophy called aesthetics. It should therefore not be used to promote racism and ethnicity. It should instead be used to curb or limit ethnic or racist tensions. ReferencesSaid, E. (1993) In Culture and Imperialism. New York: Knopf Press.
