Gaps in use are mainly due to limited access due to low socioeconomic status, preconceived notions about what can be done through the technology that patients have access and a racial divide. Educating patients about why using these technologies is beneficial and helpful will help close some of this gap, but getting more patients involved in accessing the technology needs to scale up. In this period there are free internet connections and at most computers, public libraries, but even this is not very convenient. Perhaps devices and Internet subscriptions should be included in basic healthcare costs, although who would be responsible for paying these costs should be investigated.
