Gender discrimination against womenBehind every great man, there is a greater woman. Gender discrimination is behaving or having a negative and unpleasant attitude towards a person, especially a woman, because of her sex. It varies by workplace, from being paid less for the same skill to violent crime. On a global scale, women are still victims of brutal rape, abuse and violence in patriarchal societies, and even they are victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation. Even though there are laws against discrimination against women, it is indeed a substantial problem. Violence of all kinds against women is routine and is not seen as a serious problem. Educational level, political participation and limited mobility are three main factors and have negative effects on gender discrimination against women. Girls in developing countries, like Iraqi women, do not receive the basic education they deserve.
