"There will come a day when men like me will consider the murder of innocent creatures as horrible a crime as the murder of their own kind. Our task must be to free ourselves, widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, all of nature and its beauty." - Albert Einstein (1879-1955). Imagine this: You live locked in a closet with no control over any aspect of your life. You don't get to choose when you eat or what you eat, how you will spend your time, whether or not you will have a husband, wife, or children, and if you do, who that person will be. You can't even decide when to turn the lights on and off. Imagine spending your whole life like this, even if you haven't done anything wrong or committed a crime. This is life in an animal laboratory. It is deprivation, isolation and misery. Now think about the needs of animals that are caged and torn from their natural homes. For example, chimpanzees spend hours every day grooming each other, feeding their young, and providing them with a comfortable environment in which to live. They are loving and protective parents and when they are taken from their homes, they leave their children and the chimpanzees are no longer in their comfortable nests, but caged alone and surrounded by cold steel bars for the main purpose of being experimented on (Baird, 1991). Not a pretty picture, is it? But this is just one example of what most animals face. I maintain that animals have rights and should not be treated unfairly. Around the world, millions of animals are experimented on, tortured and killed every year. Many of these animals range from simple pets, such as cats and... middle of paper... ed, the contribution you have made to cease animal testing will create an immense feeling of satisfaction.Animal Testing 7ReferencesBaird, Robert and Stuart Rosenbaum.
