Mission Statement Healthcare is a right, not a privilege – Jan Spence, Kimberley Clark Foundation. Unfortunately the above slogan fits perfectly with the current state of healthcare in the my country. The effort to bring about change is the main reason for me aspiring to become a public health professional. Nowadays the world faces many changes in healthcare systems. In my home country, India, many conversions are taking place. The changes range from the elimination of chronic epidemic diseases, to the elimination of infectious diseases, to nutritional deficiencies, to unsafe pregnancies. According to a survey conducted in India by the WHO (World Health Organization) in 2011, the main cause of death of children under 5 years of age is due to the lack of facilities for the treatment of basic diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia. This complex threat to the nation's health and development requires an intensive public health response that ensures cost-effective interventions and equitable healthcare through an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. It makes a healthcare worker's job more difficult than ever. I therefore decided to pursue a career in the vast field of Public Health, which pushes me to attend a Master's degree at your prestigious university. Studying biological sciences was appealing because at every step I found myself becoming passionate about it. academic year. Subjects such as human anatomy, physiology and microbiology made me understand the importance of health and hygiene, especially the contribution of dental hygiene to human life. So, after successfully completing my high school studies, I enrolled in a graduate course in Dental Surgery at Dharmsinh Desai University. Against......middle of paper......public health service. Overall, these professional experiences to date have helped me improve my innate qualities of perseverance, attitude, tenacity, patience and resourcefulness, thus helping me build a strong character. Having acquired rigorous training, I envision myself becoming a seasoned public health professional working at an organization like WHO to uphold the slogan “Prevention is better than cure” both in my country and around the world. My ultimate goal is to work towards a deep-rooted cause of oral cancer in India, as well as setting policies and implementing them to prevent tobacco consumption and, consequently, ward off precancerous and cancerous conditions that affect a large population in India. Therefore, I firmly believe that a Masters in Public Health from your esteemed institute will enable me to realize my aspiration.
