Ask yourself this: If you only imitate other people's wedding ceremonies, and if your goal is to glorify other weddings, what does this tell you about the meaning of marriage? Rather than letting outside influences decide and dictate how your wedding will unfold, you should plan something that is meaningful to you. Society shouldn't define what's important to you; you and your partner should decide what's important to both of you. Third, forget tradition. Not all weddings have to be the same. Like I said, it's not a competition. No one evaluates your marriage with a checklist and a scorecard. Have fun with your wedding and be creative! Here are some wedding dresses that broke tradition. Do you think these people cared about proving to others that they had the best marriage? Or do you think they simply decided to have the wedding that best reflects their personality, desires and interests? Don't be afraid of what others might think, it's your marriage and yours
