There are so many technological advancements in prosthetics these days. Prosthetics allow people to do simple things like walk or something a little more difficult like run a marathon. Prosthetics help amputees reintegrate into society by helping people return to a phase of normality. Modern limbs are stronger and lighter than ever, these limbs are made of durable plastic and carbon fiber. While the technology isn't advanced enough to replicate human limbs, strides are being made to get there. This is known as mechatronics, the fusion of man with machine; this is the ultimate goal of prosthetics. Once this is possible, amputees will be able to function exactly like a person with each limb physically and with prosthetics so advanced that the rate of depression could drop to the average level. Giant strides are being made every day, and one day misconceptions about amputees will arise
