In 1970, in many states it was illegal for women to have an abortion. One day, a woman named Jane Roe wanted to challenge those laws that prevented her from getting what she wanted: an abortion. His stance against these laws has been, is, and will always be controversial among American citizens and people around the world. The landmark court case in which this happened was called Roe v. Wade, and it was caused by the events of a woman and many factors of the country in which she lived. Roe v. Wade didn't appear out of nowhere; there were a series of events that led to the historic court case. These would include Jane Roe and her pregnancy, her search for what she wanted, and this upcoming court case. Without these events, Roe would never have had its days, or years, in court. The actual event that gave rise to this case was when the plaintiff, Jane Roe, whose real name is Norma McCorvey, realized that she had become pregnant in September 1969 with her third child. Just a few years earlier, Roe had had an unsuccessful marriage to an abusive husband that ended in divorce. After that divorce, she discovered that she was pregnant with a child from the now ended marriage. She had the baby and gave it up for adoption. The child was then adopted by Roe's mother. Jane Roe later struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and became pregnant with a second child, who was given up for adoption. Subsequently, Roe became pregnant with a third child, which was the child she carried during Roe v. Wade. The third child was also given up for adoption, just like the previous children. After discovering her third pregnancy, Roe sought an abortion. He finds that in the state of Texas, ... half the charter ... should be overturned, or that Roe should not be changed. The best-known of these rallies takes place in Washington, D.C. and begins on the National Mall. From there, protesters march down Constitution Avenue to the Supreme Court building, where signs and petitions for both sides are distributed. It is known that Norma McCorvey herself appeared at some of these rallies and expressed her opinion on abortion and her position in the Roman Catholic Church. Churches have also organized masses and pro-life demonstrations each year on or near the anniversary. Norma McCorvey is not just a woman, but a human being, a person who has looked back on her life and the decisions she had made and realizes that she regrets her decision to have an abortion. However, she is happy to have given birth and is saddened that she will have to fight for the rest of her life to undo the law that bears her name..
