Topic > Essay on Charismatic Leadership - 1487
As stated in Discourses of Charisma: Barack Obama's First 6 Month as President of the USA, "charismatic leadership can be divided into ethical and unethical charisma" (Takala, Tanttu, Lamsa and Virtanan, 2013, page 155). For the reason stated above, the charismatic leader relies heavily on impression management, resourcefulness, and manipulation. When considering methods to increase production and increase performance, therefore, the charismatic leader seeks dominance as a means to complement self-interest for his or her own goals. This observation is in stark contrast to the individual consideration exhibited by the transformational leader and the servitude characteristic of the servant.
