WikileaksWikileaks is a website dedicated to informing the public with classified government information. The website allows the public to be aware of the government's hidden agenda. This act is seen as an expression of our freedom of speech. WikiLeaks provides Americans with a reliable source for learning about their government's actions. It offers a transparent view of the government and allows Americans to report unreasonable issues handled by the government. Wikileaks should be allowed to release government information because it helps provide citizens with knowledge of important information that they otherwise would not have been aware of. The citizens of this country have the right to know important government information. It is their constitutional right to know and have knowledge of the plans and activities in which the government is involved. The opposing side might say that the information released by WikiLeaks is unreliable and false. They may even try to say that the information is being released as an act of defamation of our national government. An article written by Declan Walsh on a false statement made by Pakistani newspapers regarding Indian generals satiated by American officials confirms the opposing side's thesis. The article claimed that Indian generals were vain, brilliant and involved in genocide against Muslims in Kashmir. This article was later discovered to be a fraudulent article placed on WikiLeaks to degrade the integrity of the website. Wikileaks did not try to defame our government. The people who do not support Wikileaks are the ones who tried to defame the government to corrupt the veracity of the Wikileaks site. To the opponent... middle of paper... and with everything their government says. It allows people to see the proper documentation so they can judge for themselves whether their government's actions are just and reasonable and whether the government is supporting an adequate democracy.
