Leadership is the ability to direct or guide other people through one's actions or by actually guiding them in the right direction (Acumen). Inspiration to be a leader could come from many different areas such as family, friends, colleagues or even teachers. My inspiration didn't really occur to me until I started college in August 2013. I actually never even thought about how to become a leader until I took Ms. Moore's Perspectives class. Now I want to be a great leader and the inspiration came from Mrs. Moore and my family. I'm the first in my family to attend college, so I already started guiding my siblings in the right direction early on. Being a leader means inspiring others to pursue their dreams and aspirations and helping along the journey to success. Being a leader has nothing with authority or being able to tell others what and how to do things, it's about having people who look up to you and want to follow your lead. Being a leader you have to be in tune with your talents, strengths and weaknesses. I personally feel that I have many skills and talents. I am a great friend, I am trustworthy and reliable. I can intervene if necessary and can take control of certain situations without being asked to do so. I love writing and being able to express my feelings or thoughts through writing and poetry. In addition to my talents and abilities, I also have weaknesses. In my opinion, knowing your weaknesses is twice as important as knowing your strengths. One of my weaknesses is being motivated. Once I start a business, I will finish it and put 150% into it, but actually starting the business is my problem. Another weakness of mine is change. I have a problem with drastic change; Familiarity comforts me. In every leader there will be strengths and weaknesses and I think that's a lot
