Family has a strong influence on political thinking because some children will automatically choose the same political party as their parents. Education is a major source of socialization because children receive information about politics at school and are involved in flag salutes or pledges in class. Peers can also influence others if they are politically involved, so they affect their friends too. Religious influence will shape a person's attitude towards politics because many religions have their own fixed beliefs, such as that Roman Catholics are liberal.
