Imagine your inner soul trying to tear you away from your body and tell people about all your sins. Also, imagine your sin floating around allowing you to see others sin. Ultimately, you are a product of sin, your life is full of evil and torture. Until your sin is revealed by your unknown father. These events happened to the character in The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorn. Their sin affects how these characters live. The Sin Nature can bring out the worst and the best in people. Whether hidden or known, sin can bring good and bad things to people who have sinned. Dimmsdale's sin was locked within him, as he ended up breaking down and decoding sick, and then died after revealing his sin. Hester's sin was known and she could be a normal part of society. Being a product of sin, Pearl was a demon or became like the devil, until Dimmsdale revealed her sin and she became normal. The sin nature of people determines what your life will be like. When your sin is hidden it can really hurt you. As Dimmsdale's sin worsens, he becomes sicker and sicker and eventually overwhelms him. “…To subject the child to the due and declared catechism exam, at your hands or at Master Dimmesdale… The young minister, ceasing to speak, had withdrawn a few steps from the group, and was standing with his face partially hidden in the heavy fold of his window curtains." (Scarlet Letter page 105.) The way Dimmsdale hid his face after the men said they should look Pearl in the face and see who he sees seems like he is trying to hide his identity from them because sa looks a little like Pearl. “Such was the condition of the young priest, and so imminent was the prospect that his nascent light would be extinguished, quite prematurely, when… middle of paper… how he insulted her. “'...Dear little Pearl, will you kiss me now?' Pearl kissed his lips. A spell has been broken... Pearl's job as a messenger of anguish has been all done. When Pearl's father dies and she kisses him, her curse is broken because she has finally been recognized as the daughter, so he assimilated it into his life helping them both become better in the end. When all the sins are revealed and the consequences are resolved, people become good. Whatever the nature of sin, good and bad things can happen, it doesn't matter whether it is known or hidden. That when your sins are known or hidden life can be good or bad. When all the sins come out, it could kill you, but it could free you from being a demon. Everyone sins and whatever the type of sin, it will bring out the best in you or it might just kill you.
