Topic > Statement of Purpose for an Engineering Degree - 719

In recent decades, man is advancing into the unknown realms of technology and science. This advancement aims to simplify life and increase human comfort at home and at work. I would like to be an integral part of the crew that leads the world towards such improvement. For this, research would be of prime importance with practical experience in real-time applications accompanied by in-depth knowledge of the topic. Since a good research career can only be built on the solid foundation of a good education, I intend to put my innate and acquired knowledge to good use to earn my Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. This would give me a technological edge and also serve to give direction to my ultimate goal of a career as a research professional in the field of embedded systems. It was during my school; I worked on a transformer and built a 12 volt step-down transformer based on the coil ratios I studied in the physics book. At one end there is a small light bulb connected to the output of the transformer and at the input end there is 230 volt AC power. I eagerly turned on the power expecting the bulb to come on. But, to my dismay, all the appliances shut down. Luckily the power meter fuse blew. And I didn't understand why the experiment, which I built based on the theory in my book, ended in chaos. Having enrolled in RGUKT, a university with the motto "learn by doing" and the concept of e-learning, I became my own teacher. I resumed my incomplete experiment by significantly increasing the turns of the coil while maintaining the same ration as before. This time it was surprising to find out how the same transformer theory led to a positive result. What I learned in school, in fact, is basically the same as what I have studied now. However, as a tier… mid-paper… logically advanced country, the United States can ensure that the journey in search of knowledge will be neither discouraged nor interrupted. I believe that the choice of research is due to my ambition to “be part of the people making revolutionary changes, rather than remaining as individuals using these technologies”. Arizona offers me the best opportunity.................... My contribution to the field: In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that I have the background, ability and motivation to make a significant contribution to Computer Engineering and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. This is evidenced by my excellent academic record from school through to my undergraduate years, where I am ranked number 4 in my department. My degree and good programming skills make me a strong and well-deserved contender for the MS program. I look forward to joining the Department.
