A professional career in structural engineering is my opportunity to make a mark in Mechanics, the subject for which I instinctively felt a predilection during my high school days. I was fascinated by how observations made in nature can be formulated mathematically. Later, a show called “Mega Structures” on the National Geographic Channel cultivated my desire to work on megaprojects like the Milau Viaduct, Burj Al Arab, and Burj Khalifa. Subsequently, I decided to pursue a career in the wonderful world of civil engineering and got admitted into one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in India - College of Engineering, Pune (COEP). Thanks to the brilliant faculty in my department, my love for structures has intensified. . I started with Mechanical Engineering in the first year and consequently achieved good results in structural subjects such as: Strength of Materials, Structural Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics. I passed the optional course – Matrix Analysis of Structures and this topic also attracted my interest in Computational Analysis of Structures. The course required coding in MATLAB to perform the analysis...
