Gold Mining Group ProcessThe Gold Mining Group Process is a team process and meeting management process that combines everyone's key ideas, experience and wisdom in order to improve the functionality of the organization. The first fundamental process is determining the purpose of the session or meeting. This involves the process of setting goals and defining goals of what is expected from the meeting or session. This step sets the stage for all subsequent steps to ensure a successful meeting or session. This second step concerns the expected and desired outcomes of the meeting or session. The desired outcomes, just like the purpose, are written down and serve as the framework for the overall meeting or session. The third step is to assign the roles of facilitator, supervisor, timekeeper, and scribe for the meeting or session. These roles are the subjects who regulate the meetings and who are assigned the tasks of setting the agenda. The facilitator is the key regulator of the meeting and collaborates with the scribe responsible for writing down the ideas and with the timekeeper who assigns time to all phases. The fourth step is to define the agenda which involves setting times and dates so as to be on time for the expected completion for the desired results. The final step is to establish a time for each specific agenda item. This step expands on step four by assigning times and dates for each specific item needed for the successful completion of this process. According to Kayser (1995), “gold mining group is a process that is effective for all types of sessions or meetings and improves the wisdom and functionality of the organization.” ...andt (2001), "teamwork is essential to enhance decision making and improve communication."
