TulipWhen Lucinda and Frances returned home, Mrs. Sagal was replanting a shrub from a pot in the backyard flower garden. “Hi girls!” he said. “What have you two been up to? ... are you hungry? I just finished breakfast, but I can make you something." “Mom, it should be lunchtime by now,” Lucinda said. “No,” his mother said, looking at her watch. «It's only 10.15pm... Is Frances spending the night? I assume you've already spoken by now." "Yes, she's spending the night... you're spending the night, Frances, call your mother and let her know," Lucinda said. "What's up with that 'time warp'? what?" Frances finally asked. "We don't know, actually, it just happens every time we leave Ambur's house," Lucinda said. That evening, at dinner, after Jackie had finished and gone to her room, Lucinda said to her mother and father what had happened that day. They wanted to make sure that Jackie didn't hear why she hadn't gotten to meet Ambur and Honeysuckle yet, while Frances had. They told them about the "whatever" muffins and the carved piano a Honeysuckle's hand in the rose room. And Frances began to play the piano and she and Ambur and Honeysuckle had listened on the sofa. And Lucinda told them that Frances had solved the riddle. "It was just a wonderful day," said Lucinda . "Would you like to slide the pizza box here? I think I'd like another piece." "Yes, I thought it was a beautiful day too," said Frances. "I'm glad Lucinda woke me up at the crack of dawn this morning." Lucinda said, "I don't think so. that it was actually at the crack of dawn. And then you shouldn't spend your life sleeping anyway." "You mean anyway," Kimberly said. “It's not even gold. It's gold." “Solid gold?” Lucinda asked. “No one has a solid gold bathtub.” "It was easier to do than plate a regular bathtub. We just got here and finished," Honeysuckle said. “Well,” Frances said, “I guess if Tulip wants to go to college, it won't be a problem.” "Trolls don't go to school, Francesca!" said Lucinda. “How many trolls have you seen walking around our school?” Kimberly then chimed in. “I think we're all ready to be Lucinda.” Both girls gave Honeysuckle one last hug and told her they'd be back soon go out the door to the house. Jam helped once again with the lamps lit and ready to go. But Sampson stayed out all night to keep watch.
