The great American humorist and storyteller was born in Florida, Missouri in 1835 and grew up near Hannibal, a small town on the Mississippi River, which serves as a model for St. Petersburg, the idyllic town where the story of Tom Sawyer. Life in the southern frontier town greatly influences Mark Twain's writing and the story of Tom Sawyer is nothing more than a reflection of Mark Twain's childhood, as the author tells us in the preface. Tom Sawyer is the main character of Tom Sawyer's adventure, a mischievous, imaginative but intelligent boy who lives with his aunt Polly in St. Petersburg. He has a zeal for adventure and always dreams of living a pirate's life. The first adventure takes place casually when Tom and Huckleberry Finn, the lazy and free son of the town drunkard, sneak into the cemetery at night. There they witness a murder by Injun Joe, who cunningly makes Muff Potter his scapegoat. Extremely scared, the boys run away and swear not to tell the story of the murder. When Tom, Huck and Joe Harper escape to an island to be pirates, the second adventure begins. The two people consider the three drowned and hold a funeral for the three during which they appear and surprise everyone. Back in town, Tom rejoices with his lover Becky Thatcher, who breaks up with Tom before he ventures to the island, accepting class punishment for her. Later, Muff Potter is accused of murder, but Tom stands out and tells the truth out of conscience. So he becomes the town's hero but Injun Joe escapes. Once again, Tom and Huck venture into a haunted house in search of buried treasure, where they encounter Injun Joe who disguises himself as a deaf and dumb Spaniard and digs for gold without noticing the boys. At a town inn, Huck tracks down Injun Joe and stumbles upon Injun Joe's plan to kill the kind widow Douglas, who is later saved thanks to Huck's prediction of the evil plan. Meanwhile, Tom and Becky have a picnic in McDougal's cave where they get lost and Tome sees Injun Joe..
