Stockton College Ice Hockey History The Stockton College ice hockey team is a relatively new sport for the school. The team was formed about eight years ago and has been coached by Ian Walterson since the beginning. As of now, it is considered a club sport, meaning it is not in the NCAA, but rather in the DVCHC or Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference. Although the Stockton ice hockey team is not well known on campus, it is a successful organization. Last Year's Team Last season's team started with a record of one win and eleven losses, the team turned it around in the second half to finish the season with a .500 record. The team had some skilled players, along with some not so good players. The best player on the team was Kenny Yasenchock, a forward, who is still on the team as a senior this year. He is a fast-skating forward who can score on demand. Along with Kenny, Al Morelli, also a forward, controlled the offensive zone. Al is a gritty and incisive player who brings tenacity to the team. Along with Al and Kenny, defenders Allen Rhodes and Jim O'Donnell controlled the back end. After his first semester, forward Jim Massero transferred to Stockton and the Atlantic County Community College hockey team. Jim brings speed and finesse to the team that was previously missing. Ian Walterson Coach Ian Walterson is the head coach. Originally from Canada, he is about six feet tall and has fiery red hair. He's an intimidating person to deal with at times, especially when he's angry at the team. Coach Ian has a lot of experience with ice hockey. He played in two professional hockey leagues, but failed to reach the NHL. He played in the WHL (Western Hockey League) for The Brandon Wheat Kings and The Prince George Cougars. He also spent a few years in the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, who no longer exist (“Ian
