The '70s were filled with plenty of nostalgic teen movies, from Grease to American Graffiti to Cooley High, but few hold up as well today like the cult classic Animal House. Walking around a college campus, you can still hear students quoting lines from the movie, or see a poster of John Belushi drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels in someone's living room, or even see students wearing the infamous "College" T-shirt. Animal House is a staple of college life, even though it's been more than thirty years since its release. Being able to relate to students of different generations is the main reason why this film was so successful. Animal House began with a budget of three million dollars, which was low even for 1978, and ended with a total gross domestic revenue. just over one hundred and forty-one million dollars.
