The "Mending Wall", by Robert Frost, is about two farmers whose properties coincide with each other. Every spring they meet at the edge of their land to restore the stone wall that divides the the two of them Only from what they sow can one understand how different these two graphic symbols really are. Despite the perpetual acts of nature to destroy the barriers created on earth by man, it is in fact the fixing of these barriers that makes them. . so similar and yet so different. The speaker says, “He is all pine and I am an apple orchard.” (line 24, page 952) The speaker is more imaginative, playful and sociable than his neighbor Oh , just another kind of outdoor game." in response to repairing the wall with the neighbor and “Let's use a spell to make them balance” (line 18 and line 21. page 952). He also jokingly states to his neighbor, "My apple trees will never cross and eat the pine cones under his pines" (line 25-24 pg. 952 Although the speaker ultimately does not visualize the purpose of the wall separating the two properties, to satisfy his need for respect)....
