Public Health Issue: There is no doubt that obesity has become one of the major diseases affecting the world today. In America, obesity has now spread across the country, leaving 2 out of 3 adults overweight or obese, and 1.5 billion worldwide are overweight or obese (Overweight). The cause of this disease comes from multiple reasons, such as the increase in modern food production, the production of large quantities of food which causes the prices of meat, food and especially junk food to collapse. He has seen that people are more willing to eat the types of foods others choose and the portions they choose because social identity is driven by his community. If the community ate unhealthy foods, the person would eat unhealthy foods, but if the community ate healthier, the person would eat healthier to maintain a coherent sense of social identity (Robinson).
