IntroductionIn the following assignment I will examine the best way to create a tactical search and rescue team. The goal of the SAR is to locate, stabilize and extract people in distress. This could be a hiker on a mountainside, a sailor lost at sea, a survivor trapped in an urban disaster, or an Alzheimer's patient wandering the city streets. Each SAR area employs techniques specific to the circumstance. To help you better understand search and rescue, you should understand and know the following terminology and definitions. Terminology and definitions represent only a fraction of what is used, but they are the most important.
