The English Renaissance was a cultural movement that affected all art forms such as literature, painting and music. The late 16th century is known as the Elizabethan era and is known as the height of the English Renaissance. During this period literature in England was gradually becoming more and more popular thanks to inventions such as the printing press. This period of time is also known as the “New Birth”. The Renaissance era began in Italy after it was conquered by the Teutonic barbarian tribes. Even though the Italian government was in anarchy, their culture and faith became stronger than ever.
