Universal Serial Bus (USB) is the technical standard that governs how devices communicate with your computer or other peripherals. It features a standardized port designed to accommodate different types of hardware devices such as digital cameras, printers, scanners, flash drives, cell phones, iPods, and MP3 players (ALLUSB 2014). USB was co-invented by Ajay Bhatt, a computer architect working for Intel. In 1994, industry leaders including Intel, Microsoft, Compaq, LSI, Apple, and Hewlett-Packard formed the USB Implementers Forum, Inc (USB-IF) to support and adopt comprehensive specifications for all aspects of USB technology (UDSSL 2014). look at the history of USB along with its key developments, including what influenced the development of USB.
